English bantamweight Brad Pickett has been forced to pull out of his much anticipated UFC debut against Miguel Torres.

Pickett, known for his willingness to stand and trade, had been heading for a high-octane bout on the UFC 130 card, but an injury suffered in training has forced him to withdraw.

Instead, Demetrious Johnson, who had been set to face Renan Barao on the same May 28 card, will step up to fight a higher class of opponent in Torres.

"The fastest man in the division has answered the call, and Demetrious Johnson will move into Pickett's spot to face the former divisional kingpin. Both men have verbally agreed to the fight," UFC president Dana White confirmed.

Johnson is coming off an impressive win over Norifumi Yamamoto, while Torres' last outing saw him decision Antonio Banuelos.

Barao is expected to be matched with a new opponent in the near future.
