Vitor Belfort has been handed a boost ahead of UFC 133 after he revealed that his Hepatitis A results came back negative.

Belfort is scheduled to face Yoshihiro Akiyama in a middleweight encounter on August 6. However, he looked on course for an enforced spell away from fighting after doctors said he had Hepatitis A.

The infection is most likely to affect the liver, and can be picked up from contaminated water, and it was expected that Belfort would not train before the end of May due to the condition.

That would have left him with two months to prepare for Akiyama, but The Phenom revealed on Friday that follow-up tests have cleared him of the problem.

"I feel much better today," Belfort wrote on his personal Twitter account. "I have a miracle to share, my exam came [back] negative for Hepatitis A so is time to celebrate, I believe Jesus healed me."
