Junior dos Santos has guaranteed his UFC 131 bout will end by knockout, after Shane Carwin replaced Brock Lesnar in the main event.

Lesnar and Dos Santos had spent the past few months as coaching rivals on series 13 of The Ultimate Fighter, but the former heavyweight champion had to pull out of their fight due to diverticulitis.

As a result, Dos Santos now faces a totally new set of problems. Lesnar did not pose a great danger on his feet, but Carwin rivals the Brazilian for the tag of most dangerous striker in the division. Carwin also boasts a solid wrestling base, so Dos Santos faces plenty of re-adjustment at 30 days' notice.

"I got a little upset about this change, but I'm happy that the UFC got another opponent for me," he told Sherdog. "Carwin is an excellent fighter and deserves all my respect.

"His boxing skills are great. It's gonna be a great fight with tough blows from both sides. I would say that it will end by knockout.

"I'm in the best moment of my career and I want to make my dream of being a UFC champion come true."
