Mr Wonderful vows to dictate fight against Rashad

Phil Davis has confessed he is "concerned" about the threat of Rashad Evans, but predicts he will dictate to his more experienced rival.

Davis is the UFC's go-to guy, once again stepping in to fill an injury void after light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones had to withdraw. Victory for the 26-year-old at UFC 133 would surely book his maiden title shot.

However, he takes on a former champion in Evans, who has an NCAA wrestling background to match his own. Evans is also considered to have better hands, so Davis will have his work cut out to maintain his undefeated 9-0 record.

Mr Wonderful is not worried though, insisting he will find a way to control the fight, just as he did after an initial seven-minute struggle with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

"He's someone I should definitely be concerned about, with my skill set," Davis said of Evans to MMA Weekly. "I expect a pretty good fight.

"I invite the opportunity to face someone of his level of wrestling and I think I'll be fine.

"I like to think I'm going to be the one controlling the pace of any fight. And I don't think this will be any different. I will take this fight wherever it wants to go."
