White suggests Rampage will face Jones

Dana White has suggested Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is likely to get his shot at Jon Jones provided he overcomes Matt Hamill at UFC 130 this weekend.

Jones is convalescing following a hand injury but is on track to return to the Octagon in October. The light-heavyweight suggested earlier in the week that he was likely to meet either Jackson or Lyoto Machida, and UFC president White has confirmed the former is in pole ahead of his fight with Hamill.

"I think that if Rampage wins, you've got to be more interested in the Rampage fight because Rampage deserves it," White is quoted as saying by MMA Fighting. "I think he's at the top.

"Machida is coming off a win over Couture. I think Machida needs another fight, but the way my luck's going lately, who knows?"

Rashad Evans is also in the frame but White feels it would be a risk to put him on course with Jones when there is no guarantee he will emerge unscathed from his clash with Phil Davis in August.
