Clay Guida's wait for a UFC lightweight title shot will go on after UFC president Dana White confirmed he did not propel himself to the front of the queue with victory over Anthony Pettis.

Guida produced a trademark exhibition of wrestling to defeat Anthony Pettis at the TUF 13 Finale. The Carpenter spent nearly the entire fight in top position, taking home a unanimous decision triumph.

Pettis had begun the evening as the No. 1 contender to the 155lb crown, once Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard settle their differences. Indeed, he could have rejected a fight with Guida in order to take his title shot.

However, Guida has now leapfrogged the 24-year-old, but that still does not mean he will fight the winner of Edgar v Maynard.

Instead, it is Jim Miller who now heads the contenders, with White telling MMA Fighting Miller "is still ahead of [Guida]".

Miller is currently on a seven-fight win streak, and victory over Ben Henderson on August 14 would surely be enough to earn him his maiden crack at the title.
