Hello and welcome to our live commentary of the final Rugby Championship match of 2014. Australia have had a trying week with several off-field dramas hindering their preparations, while Argentina have played well throughout the series but have been unable to take a win. Will this match be the Pumas first Rugby Championship win? Or will the Wallabies pull through? Players have taken the field and are ready for the kick off.

1

And we're off Bernard Foley kicks off to the Pumas. It's a loose ball but the Pumas manage to get it back and make quick work to move down field. The Wallabies knock it on in defence and the Pumas have a scrum right on half way.

2 0 - 5

Not a bad scrum for the Pumas and they start to move downfield. Michael Hooper intercepts and makes a good 20-metre run, he offloads and the Wallabies have numbers wide and Tevita Kuridrani slips right through a gap and dives over. It's the Wallabies first time in possession and they've scored a simple try.

4 0 - 7

Bernard Foley adds the extras and so the Wallabies go up 7-0. Quick restart from the Pumas and they've won the ball back and make a nice little break downfield, but the Wallabies have stolen the ball and Toomua boots it out from within his 22-metre to releive some pressure.

5

The Pumas win their lineout and again start spreading it wide before a mix up causes a knock on and gives the Wallabies the put in for the scrum

7

Hooper looks like he's picked up a lose ball from the scrum and goes for a run, but it's quickly called back for a reset.

9

Big shove from the Pumas but the Wallabies hold onto the ball and start to spread it wide and make some good metres down field. It's good ball movement, but the Pumas steal it in the ruck and a chip kick ahead gives the Pumas some good field position.

10

The Wallabies get the ball back but another steal at the ruck costs the Wallabies.

11

The Wallabies score their own penalty at the breakdown for holding on 10-metres within the Wallabies half. Toomua puts it out downfield and the Wallabies chew off a good chunk of territory and get the lineout 25-metres from the Pumas line

12 0 - 12

The Wallabies win the lineout and quickly send it wide. TRY! A great ball from Nick Phipps sees Scott Higginbotham right through a gap and over the line for a second try.

13 0 - 14

Foley adds the extras to give the Wallabies a 14-0 lead.

14

Wallabies win possession at the kick off, but a silly offside penalty gives the Pumas possession and the kick it down to within the Wallabies 22-metres

15

The Pumas win their lineout and make it just 5-metres out. But the ball is trapped in the breakdown and the Pumas get a scrum only 5-metres from the Wallabies line.

17

Big shove from the Pumas and they win a penalty and choose to go back for another scrum.

18

Again another big shove from the Pumas, but there's a little knock on and the Wallabies get the put in. But no doubt they're are still under a lot of pressure.

19

The Wallabies get a relieving free kick after the Pumas pushed too early and Toomua kicks it downfield for the Pumas to throw it in.

20

The Pumas win their lineout, but the Wallabies defence is up quickly and shut down the Pumas attack. But a Wallabies knock on in a tackle gives the Pumas the put in right near halfway

21

Big push from the Pumas but the Wallabies hold their ground before the Pumas get it out wide.

22

The Wallabies look strong in defence with some good hits, but the Pumas win a penalty after Higginbotham dives right over the breakdown.

23

The Pumas go for the penalty goal 45-metres back, but it hasn't got the legs and the Wallabies kick the ball downfield for the Pumas to make a run.

24

The Pumas make it metres from the Wallabies line, but the Wallabies steal the ball and score a relieving penalty

25

The Wallabies win the lineout on their 22-metre and make some easy metres through a rolling maul. The Wallabies win another penalty and Toomua makes sure to send it to the halfway.

27

The Wallabies win the lineout at the front but are slow to get it out. Foley sends a little chip kick over the Pumas line but are unable to win the ball. Another penalty and the Pumas send it down within the Wallabies half.

29

The Pumas continue to test the Wallabies defence, but can't seem to find a hole. The Pumas knock it on. After several phases the Pumas couldn't find any gaps and lose the ball.

30

Toomua has been taken off for a quick pitch side concussion test after he made a huge hit in defence. A huge shove from the Pumas pushes the Wallabies right over their ball from the scrum, but Higginbotham just saves the ball and Foley boots it out downfield.

31

Argentina continue to test the Wallabies defence and they get a penalty within the Wallabies 22-metre. The Wallabies will have to watch their discipline as the Pumas kick it out for a lineout 5-metres from the Wallabies line.

33

The Pumas win their lineout and set up a rolling maul, but the Wallabies come through a disrupt it. The Pumas retain possession and make it within a metre, but a huge try saving tackle from Rob Horne keeps them out.

34 5 - 14

The Pumas have the advantage after the Wallabies rush up in defence. TRY! The Pumas finally get an overlap and send it wide for Leonardo Senatore to crash over in the corner.

36

But Nicolas Sanchez can't add the extras, so the Wallabies remain 14-5 ahead.

37

The Pumas win the ball off the kick off and are again in Wallabies territory.

38

The Wallabies have the ball from the lineout and Phipps kicks it down for Adam Ashley-Cooper to chase but the Pumas get their first and get another penalty.

39

The Wallabies will really need to watch their discipline as they head into the second half. The Wallabies have given the Pumas too many chances and James Horwill is lucky to get away without a card heading into the break.

40 8 - 14

Sanchez converts the penalty and it's 14-8 as the sides head into the sheds for half-time.

The Pumas have looked good so far and head into the second half with all the momentum, while the Wallabies will definitely need to look at their discipline.

40

The Pumas kick it off and the Wallabies win the ball and go wide quickly. Folau makes a great break and pops it up to Toomua but it's gone into touch. The Pumas win the lineout but go the shortside and is sent back into touch.

41

Somehow the ball pops out of the Wallabies breakdown and the Pumas pounce and make plenty of ground.

42

Yellow Card! Nick Phipps has been given his marching orders for being offside at the breakdown. Tough call for the Wallaby

43 11 - 14

Sanchez adds three-points with the penalty.

44

The Wallabies kick off and go deep into the Pumas half and a mistake from Sanches metres from his line gives the Wallabies a scrum 5-metres from the Pumas line.

45

A wobbly scrum but the Wallabies still win the ball and earn a penalty right in front but keep the ball in hand. Folau looks to be going out but keeps the ball in field and Kurindrani looks like he's gone over the line but they go upstairs to check it out. No try! Kuridrani is deemed held up and so they go back for a penalty.

47 11 - 17

Foley makes sure to add the extras. The Wallabies regain the ball from the kick off and Foley sends it down town with a box kick.

48

Poor communication from the Pumas and it's a knock on and the Wallabies play on.

49

Another knock on from the Pumas and the Wallabies get the scrum 10-metres in Argentina's half. Huge shove from the Argentina and the Wallabies scrum is dismantled and the Pumas win a penalty.

50

The Pumas kick it downfield and have a lineout right on the Wallabies 22-metre. The lineout throw is too long but Rob Horne can't control it and the Pumas get the scrum on the 22-metre.

52 16 - 17

TRY! A simple overlap and the Pumas send Juan Imhoff over in the corner. But the Wallabies aren't happy as they claim a forward pass.

53 18 - 17

Sanchez converts as the Pumas hit the lead for the first time.

54

The Pumas steal the ball at the breakdown and the Wallabies give away another penalty.

56

A poor lineout throw and Hooper pounces on the lose ball. The Pumas give away a penalty and the Wallabies get the chance to get out of their half.

57

The Wallabies win their lineout and make metres with a rolling maul. But a Israel Folau is sent off for taking the player out in the air. HUGE CALL! The yellow card is reversed! Folau is brought back onto the field.

58

The Wallabies dismantle the Pumas rolling maul but the Pumas still with the ball and yet another penalty against the Wallabies! That's 12 penalties to the Wallabies! Congratulations Jake Shatz for making his debut for the Wallabies!

59

Sanchez is unable to add the extras.

62

Both sides trade kicks down field but Folau choses to run it and goes straight through the Pumas defence

63

The Wallabies struggling to make anything out of their possession and get a scrum.

64

The Wallabies under pressure at scrum time yet another reset. Penalty against Argentina for hinging. Foley asks for the tee and sets up for the kick.

65

Foley misses. Wasn't his best, it was pushing his limits on his range. Just metres into the Pumas half and just wide of the posts.

67

The Pumas give away a penalty for the tackler not releasing the Foley makes sure to send it long into the Pumas half. The Wallabies win the lineout and create another rolling maul and make it into the Pumas 22-metre.

68

Another penalty from the Pumas and this one is easily within Foley's range. Just within the 22-metre and just to the left of the posts, Foley is surely going to add the three points.

69

It's off the uprights and the Wallabies gain the ball. But again the Wallabies kick it away. Lasers shone into Foley's eyes while he takes the kick. Surely something has to be done about this!

71

Another penalty! The Wallabies are just giving the ball away now.

72

It's a huge kick for Bosch, right on halfway and to the left. A big thump, but it's just out to the right.

73

A huge roar from the crowd and the referee goes back and gives the Pumas a penalty and Michael Hooper is sent off for a high tackle after he took the kicker out when landing from his charge down. Poor decision or justified?

74 21 - 17

The Pumas add the extras and the Wallabies have a bit of work to do to get back in it.

76

Adam Ashley-Cooper makes a good run down the sideline but the Pumas steal it in the breakdown. The Pumas lose the ball and the Wallabies steal it.

77

The Wallabies have an important scrum right on halfway. Can the Wallabies pull through? A reset at the scrum and the Pumas will be happy to eat away at the time.

79

That's it! The Pumas get a questionable penalty at the scrum.

80

Argentina have won their very first game at the Rugby Championship! Congratulations to the Pumas. It's taken them three years, but they've got there!
