Faamatuainu, who will move subject to the transfer of his work visa in the next fortnight, made 98 appearances for Bath since joining the club in 2006, scoring 15 tries. He can play anywhere in the back- or second-row,

"Jonny will offer us exciting options," said Scarlets head coach Nigel Davies. "Not only as a flair player but because of his flexibility to be able to play across the back and second row. We've been talking to Bath for a while now - the move fits well with us as we've been looking to bring in new blood and certain types of player into our forwards.

"Jonny's obviously hungry for more game time and his move fits with Bath's squad make-up next season and the new signings they've made this summer. We look forward to welcoming him into the squad and seeing what he's capable of doing for the Scarlets next season."

Pennell, 23, has made 47 appearances for the Warriors and scored 57 points since his debut in 2007. Former England captain Sanderson has been the team captain at Sixways for the past six seasons.

"Chris is a very mature, intelligent and bright young rugby player with a big future," said head coach Richard Hill. "He speaks with authority and it became very clear to me very quickly that the other players in the squad respected him and always listened to what he said.

"We now have a young captain who I believe will help to bring a lot of the young players forward and give them the confidence to contribute. Chris can be a very good bridge between the senior group and the younger players. This is a new start and I believe that having a new captain will benefit the club and that Chris will put his own mark on the captaincy."

The blindside, 24, will take the reins for the forthcoming Aviva Premiership season after leading England in midweek games against the Australian Barbarians and New Zealand Maori in June.

In 2009 he was named Guinness Premiership Player of the Season and he has one senior England cap, against Argentina in Salta, to his name.

"It is a real honour to be a part of such a great club, let alone lead it," he said. "There is a wonderful buzz within the squad that runs right the way through, from the academy boys to the first team players, and I am really looking forward to kicking off the season."
