Dragons wing Aled Brew has been invited to train with the Wales squad as they prepare for the November internationals.

The 24-year-old has been in strong form for his region so far this season but missed the cut for the initial Wales squad when it was announced on Monday.

Brew's Dragons team-mate Will Harries got the nod as one of five wings in the squad to face Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Fiji, with Ospreys duo Shane Williams and Tom Prydie also joined on the panel by Scarlets youngster George North and Blues flyer Leigh Halfpenny.

"I'm obviously delighted," Brew said. "I'm really pleased with the rugby I've played for the Dragons over the last two seasons and I feel I've developed a greater consistency in my game.

"I know that this is a great opportunity to prove my case to the national selectors and I'll certainly be doing everything I can to secure a place in the Welsh squad in the future."

Brew's last cap for Wales came against England in a disastrous World Cup warm-up in 2007 while he also started against Australia while on tour earlier that summer.
