Wales centre Jamie Roberts has denied reports that he could join Top 14 giants Toulouse for next season.

The 25-year-old has another season left on his contract and is reportedly courting interest from across the channel. The centre shone during the World Cup and is certain to play a key part in Wales' 2012 Six Nations campaign.

And reports in Sunday's edition of The Rugby Paper had suggested that Toulouse were willing to offer Roberts £400,000 a year to leave Cardiff. Blues chairman Peter Thomas admitted that he had heard the rumours and conceded that they would not be able to compete financially.

"I have heard the rumours and it is a major concern," Thomas told the Western Mail. "Jamie is still under contract for another season. But you know the kind of money that James Hook and Mike Phillips went for.

"When you look at the French clubs and the facilities afforded them by playing in municipal stadiums at virtually no cost, you realise they do have a massive advantage over us. Frankly, no region in Wales can even consider that."

But with the money on offer in France proving to be a lure to some of Wales' charges - with second-row Luke Charteris apparently on the verge of a move to Perpignan - Roberts has reiterated his commitment to the Blues through his Twitter account.

And Roberts' stance was reiterated by his agent, Big Red Management.
