London Welsh have denied that they have reached an agreement to bring Gavin Henson to the club ahead of next season.

It is still unclear whether the Exiles will be playing in the Championship or the Aviva Premiership next season but rumours suggested that they had pulled off the significant coup of bringing Henson to the club. However, ESPN understands that although they have held discussions with Henson's representatives in the past, they have not spoken with the controversial figure in the past month or so.

Henson was sacked by the Cardiff Blues back in April after an incident onboard their flight from Glasgow back to Cardiff. His move to Cardiff came on the back of short-term spells with Toulon and Saracens and was widely perceived to be the best shot he had of returning to the international frame.

With the centre currently unattached, the Scarlets have also been linked with Henson but his future remains unclear.
