Sale are facing an anxious wait over the fitness of star No.8 Andy Powell after he suffered a potential broken cheekbone against Exeter on Saturday.
The Sharks were hammered 43-6 and Powell picked up the injury early on but played through the pain barrier. Sale are now waiting on his X-ray and if he has broken his cheek then he could be out for up to seven weeks.
Sale will hope to bounce back against Saracens on Saturday and coach Bryan Redpath is optimistic that he will be able to call on his back-rower for the match. "There are issues for us in that Andy bashed his cheek at the weekend," Redpath told the Manchester Evening News. "Unfortunately, we are waiting on results from some X-rays to see whether he has got a fracture.
"Powelly played on for the whole game on Saturday with a potential broken cheek which says everything about his character. If it's not a displaced fracture then he can play on. He did damage his cheek and we're hoping it's not broken badly but we need to wait and see what the results are."
But in better news for the Sharks, they should have both Henry Thomas and Ali Dickinson fit for their match with Sarries. Mark Cueto should also be available for selection.
