Wales have delayed naming their side for their clash with Samoa on Friday night in the hope that their injury crisis will ease.

Lock Alun-Wyn Jones will undergo a scan today to gauge the extent of a shoulder injury that forced him out of Saturday's 26-12 defeat to Argentina while centre Jamie Roberts is being monitored having suffered a "mild concussion" in the same game.

Back-row forward Ryan Jones (shoulder) and centre Ashley Beck (hip) are on course to train fully this week, but Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies is still taking only a limited part in training due to a groin problem. Prop Adam Jones and flanker Dan Lydiate had already been sidelined from the entire series prior to the Argentina game because of knee and ankle injuries respectively.

Perpignan lock Luke Charteris has now joined up with the squad for training after being released to play for his club last weekend. Ospreys second row Lloyd Peers has been called in to train with the squad this week as temporary cover for Jones.

The announcement of the team to face Samoa has now been put back 24 hours to Wednesday lunchtime.
