Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has ruled out a move for Wales skipper Sam Warburton.

"I can tell you that Sam Warburton will not end up in Toulon," Boudjellal told Toulon's website. "I met with the player, but it is not agreed on wage claims. So this is an issue that is long closed, even if (he) is a very good player.

"Sam Warburton is the captain of Wales, so that means we will not have him during international matches. I told myself that one year from the World Cup, the priority of Sam Warburton would be the World Cup and not the Top 14."

Warburton is one of a number of Wales' top players whose contract is up at the end of the season. Leigh Halfpenny has been linked with a move to Toulon while Bradley Davies and Rhys Priestland have reportedly agreed moves to Wasps, though Leicester are said to be interested in the latter.

Adam Jones and Alun-Wyn Jones' futures are yet to be decided while Richard Hibbard looks to be off to Gloucester. Ian Evans and Jonathan Davies have already confirmed their moves to the Top 14.

Warburton has also been linked with Northampton Saints but has previously said, if the circumstances are right, he would want to stay with the Cardiff Blues.
