Former Welsh Rugby Union CEO David Moffett has declared himself the saviour of Welsh rugby.
Moffett, who was CEO when the four regions were created, is flying in from New Zealand to help solve the growing battle between Regional Rugby Wales - the body heading up the four regions - and the WRU.
Talking to The Rugby Paper, Moffett said "I will end the war". He added: "It needs someone who is strong and even-handed. Someone prepared to work with all parties to ensure the clubs are treated as proper shareholders.
"I should be able to get the two sides talking constructively and working on how to develop a proper partnership. I want to make a difference from inside the camp which is why I'm moving back to Wales to live."
Moffett is reportedly keen on winning a place on the WRU board with eyes on then becoming chairman. He added: "I believe I will be good for Welsh rugby. I realise there are going to be many obstacles to what I'm setting out to achieve but I feel so passionate about this that I am prepared to do what I can."
