George North has said that the current dispute between the Wales board and the regions will impact on the national side.

"It's a difficult time," North told the Times. "The only thing that it will damage is our national game. It's pretty disappointing they can't really sort out their differences to the benefit of the greater good."

And North went on to say he could see the current exodus of players from Wales continuing.

"Without Europe, there's nothing really to stay for. It's all good playing for the club and stuff, and having respect, but when it comes down to it, it's a short career.

"It's like anything, if you're getting paid X Y Z times more away, it's difficult to turn that down when you're one injury away from not playing again."

North's views were backed by an unnamed Welsh international who told the South Wales Evening Post: "Probably every player in the national squad named on Tuesday is attracting interest from clubs outside Wales."
