Warren Gatland's wishlist for centrally contracted players is now up to 37, according to reports.
The Rugby Paper reported last week that Gatland is keen for the Welsh Rugby Union to centrally contract nine other players alongside captain Sam Warburton as the talks regarding the new Participation Agreement continue. The regions and the WRU have been locked in discussions over this new agreement which covers player release and funding for the few months and the original deadline of June 30 passed without any resolution.
Gatland has played a key role in attempting to find such an agreement and central contracts are forming a large part of the discussions. Gatland, according to last week's newspaper, wanted nine of Wales' top players to be on central contracts with Alun Wyn Jones, Toby Faletau, Gareth Anscombe, Alex Cuthbert, Ken Owens, Dan Biggar, Gethin Jenkins, Scott Williams and Liam Williams on the list.
And this weekend's Rugby Paper reports he is keen to add another 27 to that number but there is no place for Adam Jones on the list. Of the 27 there are eight uncapped players named - Rob Evans, Sam Hobbs, Scott Baldwin, Macauley Cook, Tyler Morgan, Jack Dixon, Eli Walker and Jordan Williams - and two mainstays in the Welsh team - Rhys Priestland and Justin Tipuric.
The rest are front-rows Samson Lee, Aaron Jarvis, Rhodri Jones and Emyr Phillips; second-rows Jake Ball and James King; back-rows Josh Turnbull and Dan Baker; half-backs Rhys Webb, Gareth Davies, Rhodri Williams and Rhys Patchell; centres Ashley Beck and Cory Allen and fullback/wings Tom Prydie, Dafydd Howells and Hallam Amos.
