Wales coach Shaun Edwards hopes to stay in his backroom role beyond the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Edwards' contract is up at the end of the year and there were reports suggesting he may look to pastures new. Edwards' services would be in high demand as he is one of the world's top defence coaches but he hopes to continue with Wales.

"I was asked after the Ireland game whether this could be my final Six Nations with Wales and I answered the question honestly," Edwards said. "I wasn't putting my name forward for other jobs. The fact of the matter is my contract with the WRU ends after the World Cup.

"I don't have any offers on the table but I would love to stay with Wales. We have had a hugely successful time and I enjoy working with the lads in the squad and the management.

"The Welsh public has taken me to its heart and I appreciate that. What will be will be, but my loyalty is to Wales. We have a World Cup coming up and I'm excited about our prospects."
