Glasgow Warriors kept up their pursuit of a Guinness Pro12 home play-off semi-final berth with a comfortable 36-17 victory against Cardiff Blues at Scotstoun.

Peter Horne's haul of 24 first-half points, which included a hat-trick of tries, helped league leaders Glasgow open up a 29-3 interval lead, with Gareth Anscombe also scoring.

And that meant Cardiff's second-half improvement, which saw them plunder tries through Gareth Davies and Dan Fish, came far too late as the Welsh side endured a dismal trip to Scotland. Adam Ash scored in the second half for Glasgow.

Ospreys eased past Treviso 33-13 in Italy to move second in the Pro12 table and keep up pressure on leaders Glasgow.

Eli Walker, Dan Evans, Justin Tipuric and Rhys Webb all claimed scores as the Welsh visitors secured a vital four-try bonus-point victory at Stadio Monigo.

The Warriors' 36-17 victory over Cardiff Blues ensured the Ospreys could not scale the Pro12 table summit, but Steve Tandy's side will return home pleased with a solid night's work.
