London Welsh sign two

London Welsh, whose bid to join the Welsh National League Division 1 was blocked by the RFU, have made two signings as the build up to the new Allied Dunbar season continues.

Centre Stephen Ravenscroft will join The Exiles from Saracens and Florent Rossigneux, the former Wasps Flanker, has joined from his current club, Bedford.

Ravenscroft has two England caps to his name but only featured twice in the Saracens first teams last season as a replacement.

Rossigneux , born in Clichy, France, made 14 appearances in the Bedford starting line-up last season and five from the bench.

Meanwhile Welsh been told by the RFU that they will have the freedom to move leagues for the 2001/02 season.

London Welsh had wanted to move to the Welsh league this year following the adoption of Rob Andrew's plans for the new league which suspends promotion from the Allied Dunbar Premiership Two for two years.

The West London, Richmond-based club have also announced that back-rower Michael ("Buster") White, fly-half Andy Lee, club captain Luke Jones and back Peter Shaw have all re-signed.
