Quinnell to take captaincy at Stradey
Llanelli
July 20, 2000
Scott Quinnell has been appointed to succeed Wayne Proctor as captain of Llanelli for the coming season. The 27-year-old No.8 was handed the role on Wednesday evening and immediately claimed "I'm very proud, it really is a great honour. It was a childhood ambition to play for Llanelli and to be picked as captain is a dream come true". "Wayne did a fantastic job last year and I'm sure he will give me some valuable advice. Last year came very close to being a great season, I hope that we can emulate that and move forward." Llanelli's Director of rugby Gareth Jenkins commented that "Scott will bring vast experience and personal qualities to a position I know he considers to be a huge honour. I feel this is a very positive appointment" |
