Fears wether will disrupt euro schedule
January 3, 2002

There are fears amongst European Cup and Shield organisers that the freezing weather could cause chaos to this weekend's fixtures.

"We cannot afford postponements because we have no room to re-arrange matches other than to put them back a day,' said ERC chief executive Derek McGrath. "We are in touch with a number of clubs making sure they are taking every precaution."

Leicester wrapped Welford Road up in a hot-air bubble yesterday. It is designed to thaw the pitch in time for Saturday's defence of their European Cup title against Calvisano.
