Jenkins: 'We only have ourselves to blame'
January 4, 2002

Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins had no excuses following their heavy 42-10 defeat at the hands of Perpignan.

Llanelli must defeat mighty Leicester next week to stay in the Heineken Cup without relying on favours from other teams.

Jenkins admitted: "We must blame ourselves, we gave away 31 turnovers and we kicked very poorly in the first half hour.

"They took their tries well and we can't expect to win when it is unacceptable to lose so much possession.

"Perpignan were a physically impressive side and played good rugby but we can't get away from our bitter disappointment.

"Next week against Leicester is our Waterloo and is a game we must win at all costs. We owe it to ourselves."
