Give us the Millennium Stadium, says Jenkins
January 27, 2002

Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins has pleaded with Heineken Cup organisers to let his side play their semi-final at the Millennium Stadium if they land a home draw.

Llanelli coasted into the last four with an emphatic 27-10 quarter-final victory over Bath, joining Leicester, Munster and French challengers Castres in the semi-finals on April 27 and 28.

The home sides drawn out play in their own country, but not at their own ground.

"We have to play at the Millennium Stadium," said Jenkins. "It would be totally unacceptable to be palmed off somewhere else - it would a travesty of justice."

But his plea will probably fall on deaf ears as the Millennium Stadium is currently used for major soccer fixtures, and the semi-finals would come just days before end-of-season showpiece football fixtures.
