England take on Samoa in opener

England will open their Women's World Cup campaign against Samoa while defending champions New Zealand face minnows Kazakhstan when the tournament kicks off in Paris on Friday August 1.
The tournament schedule has been announced and sees 2010's beaten finalists England take on Spain on Tuesday August 5, before closing their pool A fixtures with a clash against Canada on Saturday August 9.
Pool B's New Zealand, who are aiming to win their fifth consecutive World Cup, play Ireland on the Tuesday and USA on the Saturday.
Fifteen matches will be broadcast over the five match days as the tournament takes place in the French capital. Six of those matches, including the final, will be staged at Stade Jean Bouin, home of Stade Francais.
The semi-finals will be held on August 13 and the final on August 17. 2010's final saw New Zealand overcome England 13-10 at the Stoop, denying the Red Rose a home World Cup crown.

Pool B: New Zealand, USA, Ireland, Kazakhstan
Pool C: Australia, France, Wales, South Africa

New Zealand v Kazakhstan; Canada v Spain; USA v Ireland; Australia v South Africa; England v Samoa; France v Wales.
Tuesday August 5
US v Kazakhstan; Australia v Wales; Canada v Samoa; England v Spain; New Zealand v Ireland; France v South Africa.
Saturday August 9
Ireland v Kazakhstan; Spain v Samoa; Wales v South Africa; England v Canada, New Zealand v USA, Australia v France.
At the end of the pool phase, the teams will be seeded based on their pool positions.
Wednesday August 13
10th seed v 11th seed; 9th seed v 12th seed; 6th seed v 7th seed; 5th seed v 8th seed; Semi-finals: 2nd seed v 3rd seed; 1st seed v 4th seed.
Sunday August 17
The final will be played at Stade Jean Bouin, after the third place play-off between the losing semi-finalists.
