Paul di Resta is confident his new chassis at this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has removed any doubts over his performances at the last two races.

Force India found a problem with di Resta's chassis after he finished 12th at three consecutive races. He returned to form in Abu Dhabi with two points in ninth, despite a first lap puncture and an unfortunately timed safety car.

"The nice thing to pick up on is that the new chassis has done what it should do," he said. "We've put ourselves in a good position again, rebuilt our confidence and certainly we'll be fighting hard. We scored a couple of points but obviously some of our competitors have outscored us, but that is the name of the game."

Di Resta was involved in an incident in the first corner as four cars tried to squeeze through side-by-side. The accident ended team-mate Nico Hulkenberg's race and dropped di Resta down the order as he had to pit with a puncture.

"Four cars into turn one doesn't work, but I was at the front so I couldn't see what four cars was, but I left more than half a track's width and what other people were trying to do to the right hand side of me was another question."
