Dwain Chambers failed to defend his 60m title at the World Indoor Athletics Championships, as Justin Gatlin stormed to victory.

Chambers was a little slow out of the blocks and it cost him, but he powered through late on to claim bronze.

Gatlin was a class above, blasting out of the blocks and powering away from Nesta Carter in a time of 6.46.

"I would like to have won, but it went to the better man," Chambers told Channel 4. "I am just glad to have got to the final and show that us old boys can still do it."

Sally Pearson showed GB captain Tiffany Porter a clean pair of heels in the final of the 60m hurdles, with the Australian blitzing the field to take gold.

Pearson powered out of the blocks, was ahead at the first hurdle and she simply ran away from the field to take gold in a time of 7.73. Porter showed her class to come through for silver, making up ground after a slow start to take second.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Yamile Aldama claimed triple jump gold on a promising day for Team GB.
