England's 4x400m relay team have been awarded a silver medal after a third Nigerian athlete failed a drugs test.

Folashade Abugan has been stripped of her 400m individual silver medal after testing positive for traces of a performance enhancing steroid, and her team have also been disqualified from the relay event.

"The Federation Court has determined that Ms Abugan had committed an anti-doping rule violation," the Commonwealth Games Federation said in a statement.

"Consequently, she has been disqualified from all events she participated in during the Games, with the results nullified. This includes her silver medal in the women's 400 metres. As she was also a member of her country's second placed 4 x 400 metre relay team, that result is also nullified."

English quartet Kelly Massey, Victoria Barr, Meghan Beesley and Nadine Okyere are now silver medallists, while Canada have been bumped up to bronze. Meanwhile, in the individual event Aliann Tabitha Pompey of Guyana moves up to silver, with the bronze medal going to Christine Amertil of the Bahamas.

Abugan is the third Nigerian athlete to fail a doping test at the Commonwealth Games after 110m hurdler Samuel Okon and Osayemi Oludamola tested positive for banned substances. Indian athlete Rani Yadav also tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone.
