Australian Rugby Union boss Bill Pulver has publicly denounced rumours of a coaching change by releasing a statement of its support for besieged Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie. ESPNscrum reported on MondayEwen McKenzie would soon be shown the door while the ARU had already approached Michael Cheika to take on the head role.

However, the ARU has stated McKenzie would remain the Wallabies coach for the end-of-season November Tests despite the recent turmoil following the Kurtley Beale texting scandal with former Wallabies business manager Di Patston.

"I can confirm the ARU has not had any conversations with any other coaches regarding the Wallabies coaching position," Pulver said. "Ewen is coaching the team this weekend and next Friday he will board the plane with the team for the spring tour, and is contracted to Australian Rugby to lead the Wallabies to next year's Rugby World Cup."

Scandal and rumours have followed McKenzie since the in-flight incident between Beale and Patston on their journey between South Africa and Argentina with the Wallabies coach forced to deny rumours of a relationship with Patston, who has since resigned her position with the ARU.

McKenzie has also had to deny claims he was already aware of a series of "deeply offensive text messages" between Beale and Patston that occurred in June, which is now the subject of an internal code of conduct investigation.

Beale has been suspended since the in-flight argument missing the final Rugby Championship Test against Argentina and was later barred from selection indefinitely after the text messages between himself and Patston emerged.

Reports from inside the Wallabies camp also said that McKenzie holds the support of the Wallabies squad following a clear-the-air session on Sunday night, with vice-captain Adam Ashley-Cooper stating the side wanted McKenzie to keep his position and lead the side to the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Beale's position within Australian rugby looks in huge doubt after the star's text messages were released to the public.
