Massa changes engine ahead of race

Ferrari has made a precautionary engine change on Felipe Massa's car ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Under the regulations he will not face a penalty for the change and will still start from second place on the grid. He will, however, be on the second engine of his eight engine allocation for the entire season. If he exceeds the quota over the course of the season he will be sanctioned with a 10 place grid penalty every time an additional engine is used.
Ferrari said: "This is a completely precautionary step: the engine, used by Felipe Massa up to the qualifying yesterday afternoon shows some abnormal parameters, but can still be used on the track, according to the applicable rules, during free practice sessions."
