The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs aren't designed for part-time fans (format explained here), but you can't fault the accessible entertainment served up during Saturday's third round at The Barclays.

First we saw KJ Choi bag an ace at the par-three 14th.

Then, in the very next group, left-handed Greg Chalmers followed him in.

Boom. Two hole-in-ones and plenty of fist pumps all-round. Now that's easy-to-understand golfing box office. Ball goes into hole. Players and fans celebrate. PGA Tour scores massive win.

Now back to the demanding stuff.

Choi and Chalmers, along with the rest of the field at Liberty National, are trying to ensure they finish in the top 100 and get their invite to the Deutsche Bank Championship.

We're not talking about top 100 at The Barclays here, but the top 100 in the points-adjusted FedEx Cup rankings after the tournament is over. Got it? You can't dip in and out here, you need to put your time in and STUDY THE FORMAT.

Anyhow, Kevin Chappell should be fine. The American racked up nine birdies in a bogey-free 62 on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Tiger Woods, Boo Weekley and Phil Mickelson are among those keeping themselves in the complicated equation. Rory McIlroy is also going along nicely.

The eventual FedEx Cup winner takes home $10,000,000 after the Tour Championship. He'll have absolutely no idea how he won it and neither will we, but that doesn't really matter - does it?
