Highlights and reaction to Furyk's 59

Jim Furyk is not a man who screams excitement for most golf fans, but on Friday at the BMW Championship he was Justin Bieber to our shrill screams.
59. Furyk shot 59 to set a course record at Conway Farms and attain rock star status for the day. He didn't miss a single fairway and averaged under 1.3 putts a hole to come in at 12 under par - for the day.
The rest of the field reacted with shock and awe.
"Seriously? That is ridiculous," said Zach Johnson, on being told Furyk was 11 under through the 16th.
"That makes me feel depressed about my round," said co-leader Brandt Snedeker, who could only muster a 68.
Some of Furyk's fellow competitors at the BMW took to Twitter.
That round by Furyk was incredible 59. I take my hat off for that. Respect. I guess you can go low around this track. And boy do I need to.

Furyk himself reflected on "a very cool card". What made it even more remarkable was it came a day with the breeze blowing and conditions far from generous. Nobody else went lower than 65.
As for the history stuff, I'll leave that to the numbers folks at the PGA Tour.
"It was the first 59 on the PGA TOUR since Stuart Appleby in the final round of The Greenbrier Classic in 2010. The others with a 59 were Al Geiberger in the 1977 Memphis Classic; Chip Beck in the 1991 Las Vegas Invitational; David Duval in the 1999 Bob Hope Classic; and Paul Goydos in the 2010 John Deere Classic."
