Manchester City to edge out Arsenal at 15/2

Manchester City and Arsenal have had mixed results in their pre-season friendlies, but as the new campaign gets underway on August 10, both sides have to improve.

City lifted the Premier League last season and have won three of their six friendlies in the build-up to the new campaign. They have also drawn two of their matches and lost their first friendly in July.

Arsenal won the FA Cup in May and have recorded two wins and two losses in their friendlies. The last time Arsenal competed in the Community Shield was in 2005, and the last time they won it was the year before.

City go into the match as favourites and are looking for a fifth victory having last won the competition in 2012, and William Hill are offering odds of 15/2 for them to beat Arsenal 2-1 in what will be their third appearance in four years in the season's traditional curtain-raiser.
