Manchester City begin their League Cup defence at home to Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow with Manuel Pellegrini surely set to rest some of his first team stars.

It's been a testing week for City, with Pellegrini's side battling to a vital 1-1 draw against Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday after a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League opener in midweek.
