Wladimir Klitschko has told David Haye to get in line if he wants a rematch, the Ukrainian imploring the Brit not to follow through with his plans to retire and instead go to America to rebuild his career.

Klitschko is still basking in the glory of his success after beating the Londoner on points in their recent heavyweight unification clash in Hamburg. Since suffering defeat and surrendering his WBA title, Haye has made it clear he would "love" the chance to step back into the ring with Klitschko, although he is yet to make a U-turn on his planned exit from the sport - which is due to take place before his 31st birthday in October.

Despite the Brit insisting he is not interested in fighting anyone other than Wladimir or his brother Vitali, there have been calls for 'The Hayemaker' to re-establish himself in the United States before getting a rematch with Wladimir further down the line - a view the Ukrainian wholly supports.

"I feel Haye has to establish himself in the United States and make two fights because it shows the will," Klitschko told Sky Sports News. "He shouldn't retire - he should get some good wins and then maybe I'll give him the rematch."

Although the younger Klitschko brother is open to a possible second bout with Haye, he does not believe the Englishman is as eager as he says he is to earn another crack at the WBO, IBF and newly-crowned WBA champion.

He said: "I believe that certain things show the character of David Haye and I don't really believe he wants this rematch. After the fight, fighters usually scream 'give me the rematch, give me the rematch'. At the press conference David Haye didn't say a word. The journalist asked me 'do you want to give David Haye a rematch?' so I passed this question to David. And he said 'well, maybe, sure' and I think he was seeing the numbers of British pounds. I don't really see the desire in him getting a rematch."
