Vitali wants to send Haye 'to the floor'

Vitali Klitschko has opened the door to a possible clash against Britain's David Haye, with the Ukrainian saying it would be "great" to "send him to the floor".

Haye is currently nursing his wounded pride and bruised body after being outclassed and outpointed by Vitali's brother Wladimir in their recent heavyweight unification super-fight in Hamburg. Prior to the one-sided contest, Haye unleashed a barrage of taunts and insults, promising to make the "robot malfunction" as well as further angering the Klitschkos by wearing a t-shirt depicting him holding up the severed heads of both fighters.

The Londoner failed to back up his pre-fight talk, losing a unanimous decision and surrendering his WBA title in the process. Haye, 30, has made it clear he intends to hang up his gloves before his 31st birthday in October, meaning it is highly likely he will only have time for one more bout.

While Wladimir is refusing to rule out a rematch with Haye, Vitali - who is set to meet Tomasz Adamek in September - has thrown his hat into the ring by declaring he has "big motivation" to fight the Brit. "Now David Haye is without a title but there is one reason why I want to fight him - because he touched me personally with his bad words," Klitschko said. "I want to give him the right answer by sending him to the floor.

"This would be great for me personally. If the fight happens this will be the biggest motivation. He has no respect for his opponent, he tries to duck out before fights. He always has excuses, always says bad words to my brother and to me and to my family.

"It's not nice and the only way I can answer that without words is to send him to the floor in the ring. Then he will have no excuses. It will be great. He is actually famous for his trash talking and not for his boxing skills. I want to send him to the place where he belongs.''
