Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum hates Floyd Mayweather Jnr and has no interest in dealing with Mayweather's promoters, according to Pacquiao's conditioning coach Alex Ariza.

Relations between Arum's promotional company Top Rank and Golden Boy, who look after Mayweather, are notoriously frosty. Reports suggest that Arum would prefer to see Pacquiao face Juan Manuel Marquez in his next bout, in what would be the fourth meeting between the pair.

So although Pacquiao has said negotiations with Mayweather are underway, it seems that a deal is a long way from completion. "It's clear as to why the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has never happened. It's always about what's best for Bob and his agenda… Whoever Manny fights, he has to fight in-house [against another Top Rank fighter]," Ariza told fighthype.com.

"Arum hates Floyd Mayweather, can't stand him, he doesn't want to see him make a dollar, can't stand Golden Boy, doesn't want to do business with them.

"If Manny wants to fight Floyd and if he fights Floyd, and hypothetically loses to Floyd, the Marquez fight is still there. Manny fights Marquez and he loses to Marquez, the Floyd fight is gone."

Pacquiao also revealed that he has sent his advisor Michael Koncz to talk to Arum about Mayweather - but Ariza expects their meetings to prove worthless. "I know that Michael Koncz says that he's having a meeting with Bob to negotiate the Mayweather fight. They're having a meeting on how to make sure that this fight doesn't happen. That's what their meeting is about," he said
