WBA and IBF champion Amir Khan comfortably made the weight ahead of his fight against Lamont Peterson on Saturday, with the American tipping the scales at exactly the light-welterweight limit.

Khan, who has had little problem adhearing to the 140lb limit during his career, continued that trend as he weighed in just under the limit at 9st 13lbs on Friday. Peterson, meanwhile, was recorded at exactly 10st as the two fighters faced off for the final time before the Washington DC showdown.

Khan will now go away and prepare himself for the fight, but first insisted he is not underestimating Peterson - with potential super-fights with the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jnr hinging on his ability to get past the home-town hero.

"I'm going to carb up, get a little bit bigger and rest up," Khan told Sky Sports. "Now it gets serious. I've been on my game all week, and now I can't make any mistakes now.

"I'll be very professional about what I eat, what I drink, what I do now. I'm not looking too far ahead.

"It's about this fight now, and then look to the future. It's not just about winning this fight - it's about winning it in style."
