Haye-Vitali in the pipeline for March

David Haye could land a shot at Vitali Klitschko next year, with the Ukrainian's manager Bernd Boente earmarking March 2013 as a potential date for the showdown if the WBC heavyweight king's political career flops.

Since knocking out Dereck Chisora earlier this month, Haye has not made secret his desire to face the elder Klitschko.

Boente has not ruled out the possibility of Haye fighting one of the Klitschko's again, declaring "it could be Vitali, it could be Wladimir [who beat Haye on points last year]".

However, much depends on Vitali. Firstly, the 41-year-old has a fight with Manuel Charr in September to negotiate, before he turns his attention to politics. Leader of the opposition in Ukraine, Vitali goes on the campaign trail for parliamentary election after his bout with Charr.

If successful he may hang up his gloves, but if he does not get elected then a clash with Haye has a a good chance of materialising, according to Boente.

"Vitali meets Manuel Charr in September and then goes on the political campaign trail at the Ukraine elections, which are held in October," he said.

"He has to win his fight and then see the outcome of the elections. Then Vitali must decide what to do if he is not elected into a certain position. There is still a chance the fight will come, but not this year. It will probably be in England on pay-per-view next year, possibly in March."

Boente reaffirmed that a rematch with Wladimir would not be discounted going forward. "I will not exclude anything. I have learnt from past dealings that you can't rely on anything he [Haye] says or does. He is like a fish in water - you can't catch him. It's all in Haye's hands. Whatever he wants, he just needs to approach us."
