Ogogo pondering gold bid at Rio 2016

Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo is not ruling out going for gold at the Rio Games in 2016, admitting he is still to make up his mind whether to continue as an amateur.

Ogogo made a name for himself at London 2012, winning three bouts at the ExCel Arena - including a victory over world No. 1 Ievgen Khytrov - en route to claiming a bronze medal in the middleweight category.

The 23-year-old, who also won silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, revealed earlier in the month he was unsure when to turn professional, revealing his "love" for the amateur game and indicating he would like to speak with GB performance director Rob McCracken before making a decision.

The fighter has yet to make up his mind about his future plans, but he is leaving the door open for a possible tilt at gold in Rio.

"I'd love to go to Rio and represent Team GB again," he told boxingscene.com. "But the immediate future is to chill out, spend some time at home with my family and be a good son to my mum."
