Ogogo unsure when to turn professional

Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo says he will seek out the advice of GB boxing performance director Rob McCracken before deciding whether to turn professional.

Ogogo fell short in his bid for gold at London 2012 after suffering a 16-9 last-four defeat to Brazil's Esquiva Falcao, but the performances that led to a bronze medal further highlighted the talent at his disposal.

The 23-year-old, who also won silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, is one of several boxers that caught the eye when competing for Team GB who are subsequently being touted for the pro ranks - although that is something middleweight Ogogo will only consider having spoken to McCracken, who is also IBF super-middleweight champion's Carl Froch's trainer.

"I love the amateur game," he told worldboxingnews.net. "I love the environment. I love how pure the sport is. Each country's best fighter going head to head to see who the very best is and I love representing my country.

"That being said how can you top a home Olympics? We have a great performance director in Rob McCracken that knows the fight game, amateur and professional inside and out. The whole program wants the best for each and every one of us, so I'm sure Rob and the team will give me the best advice."
