Amir Khan has admitted that his fight with Julio Diaz in Sheffield on April 27 could be one of his last on British soil.

Khan has not fought in Britain since defeating Paul McCloskey in April 2011 - and has since forged a name for himself in America despite a couple of defeats - to Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson.

The light-welterweight got his career back on track with a win over Carlos Molina last December and he views his clash with Diaz as a stepping stone to a world title shot. And given his status in America, Khan has hinted his future may well lie on the other side of the Atlantic.

"It's good to be back fighting in England, this could be one of my last times," Khan said. "The next fight is in the US but for this one fight I thought bring it back home. I want to put on a performance for my home fans, I want a good performance for them I want to make it special for them."

Given Khan's box office appeal in America it would take a major lure to bring him back to England and he wants to put on a dazzling display against Diaz in what could be his UK farewell.

He said: "Whenever you fight, you want a performance but with this being one of my last here in the UK, I want an explosive bout. I want people to get excited watching me."
