Froch: It's 'only fair' that Ward comes to England

Carl Froch says he and promoter Eddie Hearn will try and entice Andre Ward to England for a rematch between the pair.

Froch admitted last week that he would fly to Las Vegas if necessary, but believes it's "only fair" that Californian Ward make the trip over the Atlantic should a second fight happen.

"Myself and Eddie would try our utmost and hardest to get Andre to England," Froch said on Steve Bunce's ESPN boxing podcast.

"I think that's only fair. I boxed him in the States, he should come over and fight me in the UK."

The last time and only time Froch and Ward have set foot in the ring together, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, ended in a unanimous decision in favour of the American - a result Froch is keen to reverse.

"The question I keep getting asked is 'Do you want to get that loss off your record?' Before I retire it would be fantastic to at least try and get the opportunity to avenge the defeat.

"If [Ward coming to England] was a non-goer and the fight wasn't going to happen I probably would bend and go to Vegas - though I don't think I should have to so I won't commit to saying that I'd go to Vegas. I know

"I did say that becauseā€¦ why not? It seems like a good move, even though it's near California and it's easier for him to get to, there's something about Las Vegas that it does have a neutral feel about it."

When Bunce added it was about time Froch had a big Vegas fight, he added with a smile: "And there's that as well."
