Hearn tips Wembley for Khan v Brook

Promoter Eddie Hearn insists talks over a potential blockbuster bout between British rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook are "going well", with Wembley Stadium mooted as a possible venue for a fight next May.

Writing in his Mail Online column, Hearn said discussions between the two camps were ongoing and that Wembley was interested in hosting the fight following the sell-out success of Carl Froch's world title rematch with George Groves last May.

"Talks are ongoing over a fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan," Hearn said. "It is going well because I think everyone realises it makes sense.

"Khan obviously wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather, as does everyone in the division, but he knows that while that fight might never happen, even if it did he would make more money fighting Kell.

"Everything so far has been very straightforward and I am in talks with Wembley over a May date. They want us back there as soon as possible after the success of Froch-Groves - I have no doubt in my mind that we would fill that stadium again. I hope to have this tied up in the next month or so."

Brook's trainer Dominic Ingle recently suggested that it would be unlikely for a fight between the pair to be made this year. Khan had previously shown no interest in fighting his long-time rival but, following Brook's defeat of Shawn Porter to claim the IBF world welterweight title last month, now believes the all-British clash could be as big Froch-Groves II, which attracted a crowd of 80,000 at Wembley.
