Carl Froch is preparing to go into hibernation as he bids to get his stuttering boxing career back on track.

Following his loss to Denmark's Mikkel Kessler in April, the former WBC super-middleweight champion is moving into Rotherham's Hellaby Hall Hotel for 10 weeks to ensure he is at his peak when he takes on Arthur Abraham on October 2.

The Nottingham fighter must beat his German-Armenian opponent to guarantee a semi-final spot in the Super Six World Boxing Classic, and 'The Cobra' is leaving girlfriend Rachael and new-born son Rocco behind so that he enters the ring in prime condition.

"I just need to concentrate on this fight and have to get away from all distractions," he said in the Daily Star. "It will be hard leaving my family, but this is such a big fight that my preparations must be spot-on this time."

The 33-year-old will be pushed to the limit in his training regime as he will be put through his paces alongside many of Britain's 2012 Olympic hopefuls.

"It rubs off especially in the morning on the running track because they are like gazelles. They are all very quick and sharp," he said.

"I have done a bit of sparring with Anthony Ogogo, Steve Simmons and Frank Buglioni who have to keep performing well to get picked. None of them are guaranteed an Olympic place so being around all that energy has put a bounce back in my step."

After Froch lost a points decision against Kessler, which brought an end to his unblemished record, he had threatened to quit the tournament if his fight with Abraham did not take place in Britain.

But, following weeks of intense negotiations between Hennessy Sports, who represent Froch, and Sauerland Event, the company who promotes Abraham, the Chapiteau de l'Espace Fontvieille was chosen as a neutral location for the match-up.

Due to Froch's controversial defeat in Denmark, three American judges will score the bout in Monte Carlo.
