Carl Froch has postponed his Super Six encounter with Arthur Abraham due to a back injury.

Froch, who lost to Mikkel Kessler in his last outing, was scheduled to meet Abraham on October 2. The bout was arranged for Monaco, with the winner advancing to a Super Six final.

However, Froch's promoters, Hennessy Sports, have revealed the Nottingham Cobra is out for three weeks with a back problem. No new date has been set for the fight.

Froch first felt the injury on Friday, and he instantly sought the advice of a physiotherapist. And, after several examinations, it was agreed that the fighter would stay away from training for an initial three-week period.

The venue of Froch's fight could now change, with TV scheduling a factor in discussions.
