Floyd Mayweather Snr has launched a scathing attack on Amir Khan, labelling the Brit's performance in his win against Marcos Maidana "dog shit".

Khan was forced to go into the trenches before prevailing in a 12-round war with the hard-hitting Maidana. Since his victory, there has been clamor for the Bolton-born fighter to step into the ring with unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

However, Mayweather Snr, who was in Ricky Hatton's corner when he lost to Manny Pacquiao in May 2009, has blasted Khan's showing in Las Vegas and has hit out at trainer Freddie Roach for making the 24-year-old "a worse fighter".

"I thought Amir Khan looked like dog shit," he told Fighthype. "Everybody talks about how Freddie Roach made him a better fighter. Freddie Roach made him a worse fighter. He caught that guy with a nice shot early (referring to the body shot that sent Maidana to the canvas in the first round), but after that, all he did was fu**ing run.

"He was running for his life in there and he's lucky it wasn't a 15-round fight like the old days or you know what would have happened to him? He would have been stopped."
