Wladimir Klitschko's trainer Emanuel Steward has insisted his fighter is still keen to step into the ring with David Haye at the start of July.

The on-off saga involving Klitschko and Haye looked to finally be off when the Ukrainian reached an agreement to fight Dereck Chisora on April 30. This decision prompted Haye to explore the possibility of defending his WBA belt against Ruslan Chagaev in May - leaving Haye with little time to recondition ahead of a potential fight with Klitschko in July.

The Haye camp have hit out at Klitschko for his decision to face Chisora instead of a multi-title fight, but Steward claims his man still wants to meet Haye in July.

"Wladimir says he intends to be ready to fight on July 2," said Steward. "I would like to see it.

"David is a very talented fighter. I like him. I needle him a lot back and forth because he likes to do the media hype, but I respect him a lot."

Klitschko will put his WBO, IBO and IBF belts on the line against Chisora and Steward is wary of the threat posed by the Brit.

"To me, the confidence, the ambition, the burning desire of a fighter is a lot more dangerous to me than that of an experienced fighter," Steward said. "I've always felt that Chisora was a tough fight and I'm really not that super excited about it."
