James DeGale urged George Groves to sign on the dotted line for a British super-middleweight title clash, vowing to knock out his rival in the fourth round as a much-anticipated grudge match between the pair edged closer to reality.

The British Board of Boxing Control has pencilled in the fight for April 9 at London Olympia, and while contracts are still to be signed, DeGale believes is it only a matter of time before the deal is agreed.

"My team are doing everything in their power to get it on, I'm just waiting for them to sign the contract," DeGale told Sky Sports. "I'm ready for it, I'm just waiting for the call from my promoter. I'm ready to knock Ugly Kid out.

"Fans want it, so it's only right for him to get knocked out. Let's get it on. I'm just waiting for the call. I just want them to sign the contract. Let's do this Ugly Boy. I'm coming for you - you're next."

DeGale strolled to victory over Alpay Kobal in Glasgow on Saturday, and barely looked like he had broken sweat when he taunted his rival. But when asked whether Groves would be impressed by the performance, DeGale insisted it was irrelevant.

"Don't matter what he thinks," he said. "I know I'm gonna knock him out in four rounds when it happens. So bring it on Ugly Boy. You is an ugly boy. Four rounds, I'm the better man. I want him to come and fight me though. Come and fight me, and get knocked out."
