British super-middleweight champion James DeGale has tipped Wladimir Klitschko to turn out David Haye's lights when the pair meet in Hamburg on July 2.

Recent exchanges have confirmed there is no love lost between Haye and DeGale, particularly as the latter's fierce rival George Groves a prominent member of the Hayemaker stable.

The animosity between the pair was ramped up a notch earlier this month when Haye questioned DeGale's heart ahead of his showdown with Groves, who holds the Commonwealth title, on May 21.

Now DeGale has intensified the war of words by accusing Haye of not having the punch resistance to withstand an onslaught from Klitschko.

"It's great for boxing, and for British boxing, the best two heavyweights in the world colliding, but in Hamburg against one of the Klitschkos it's a difficult task ahead," DeGale told BBC Sport.

"Obviously I'd like David Haye to go on and unify the division and beat him but I see [Wladimir] Klitschko knocking him out late on. I think he's just too athletic, too big and hits far too hard."
